It's warming up here in Australia and I'm not just talking about the weather!

 

With so many rocking startup events cropping up across the country, we thought we'd share a few with you so you don't miss out on them! We've handpicked a range of events from free workshops to paid seminars, we're certain you'll find something to check out.

Spark Fest: 11-13 October 2017

Running for 13 days, Spark Festival has a host of wicked events and activities which showcase NSW's startup and innovation ecosystem! Most of the events on the program are organised and produced by the community, for the community. Fishburners Public Pitch Night

This is a great opportunity to practice your pitch, get invaluable feedback and meet likeminded people!

On Purpose: Social Enterprise Start-up Stories

Join the Work inc team as they bring you three amazing female founders to talk about social enterprises and their incredible journeys. Speakers include:

  • Kathy Wong a social entrepreneur who is making a difference to children in poverty with her business Moeloco. 
  • Aminata Conteh-Biger, the first Sierra Leonean refugee woman in Australia, is the Founder of The Aminata Maternal Foundation. Her foundation was established to improve maternal mortality outcomes for women and babies in Sierra Leone. 
  • Zoe Edema is the Co-Founder of Muralisto, a co-design public art enterprise. Muralisto creates socially engaged public art through community participation.

Open State: Microsoft PitchFest

Microsoft PitchFest is about creating a collaborative environment for the Adelaide start-up community to support each other. Guest speakers will share their experiences of running start-ups in Adelaide, as well as their experiences in the Adelaide start-up community. There will also be an opportunity for startups and entrepreneurs to do a quick pitch about their start-up followed by a conversation with the forum regarding feedback and next steps. This will include ways in which Microsoft could help the start-up accelerate their business. Start-ups that align with Microsoft's values may also be invited into the Microsoft Innovation Centre South Australia Cohort of start-ups.

Founder Talks: Everyone wants to live in a Smart City but what that means
